Step one: Become a Bear

Apply to Missouri State.

Step two: Choose your major

Before completing 60 credit hours, follow these steps:

  • Declare or change your major to mechanical engineering technology by visiting the Academic Advising and Transfer Center.
  • Meet with your assigned advisor. You'll discuss admission requirements and develop your schedule.
  • Complete the program's admission requirements. You maintain pre-major status until you meet all admission requirements.
  • Complete the Application to a Degree Program form to update your record. The technology and construction management department can assist you.

Mechanical Engineering Technology (Comprehensive)

Bachelor of Science

Admission requirement:

  1. Grade of C or better in MTH 261(5).

Major requirements (97-98 hours):

Note: 19 hours may double count toward General Education requirements.

    1. Focus on Quantitative Literacy: MTH 261(5).
    2. Focus on Social and Behavioral Sciences: ECO 155(3), PSY 121(3).
    3. Focus on Physical Sciences: PHY 203(5).
    4. Focus on Written Communication and Integrative and Applied Learning: ENG 210(3).
  2. TCM 110(3), 273(3), 281(3), 315(3), 325(3), 331(3), 337(3), 347(3), 355(3), 359(3), 365(3), 411(3), 438(3), 498(3), 551(3).
  3. ACC 201(3), CHM 160(4), CHM 161(1); ITC 260(3) or CSC 125(4); MTH 280(5), MTH 345(3), PHY 204(5), PHY 233(3).
  4. Six hours of advisor approved upper division elective coursework.
  5. Public Affairs Capstone Experience will be fulfilled by completion of TCM 359(3).
