The TCM Department's vision is to empower the next generation of technical problem solvers to drive positive change in the world by fostering academic and industry partnerships to become the premier destination for innovation and a career-ready workforce.

The TCM Department's mission is to prepare students in business, science, design, and project management principles to be successful professionals in a global economy, with an emphasis on experiential learning, public affairs, and industry engagement.

The strategic plan for the TCM Department focuses on the following four (4) goals.

  1. Strengthen academic programs through student recruitment, relevant and innovative curriculum, and experiential learning opportunities that bridge the gap between the classroom and the workforce.
  2. Prepare students for successful careers as technical managers within their communities and in a global context.
  3. Recruit, retain, develop, and reward outstanding, diverse, and collegial faculty and staff who demonstrate high-impact academic and professional engagement..
  4. Strengthen external relationships and grow our profile and reputation.

Program's Mission

The MS in Project Management program prepares students to be proficient project managers through an educational experience that equips them with core technical, professional, and strategic knowledge and expertise in the broader project management discipline.

Student Learning Objectives

  1. Create appropriate project management life cycles and be proficient in executing projects by using appropriate professional standards.
  2. Develop advanced decision-making strategies by assessing and balancing cost, schedule, quality, and risks to achieve project objectives.
  3. Develop an ethical position and culturally aware behavior governed by responsibility, respect, fairness, and honesty.
  4. Develop teamwork and stakeholder communication skills.
  5. Develop strategies for leading and managing complex projects to meet business goals.
  6. Analyze and evaluate business processes in project management.
