Find your place in HID

To begin course work in the field of interior design, you initially need to be admitted to Missouri State. Before completing 75 credit hours, you must also be admitted to a degree program.

Interior Design (Comprehensive)

Bachelor of Science

Admission requirement:

  1. MTH 134(3) with a grade of C or better.

Major requirements (81 hours):

Note: Six hours may double count toward General Education requirements.

  1. Specific General Education requirements: MTH 134(3), PSY 121(3).
  2. ART 115(3); ART 110(3) or 215(3); ACC 201(3) or MKT 350(3); IDC 140(3), 201(3), 202(3), 208(3), 241(3), 303(3), 304(3), 325(1), 344(3), 346(3), 405(3), 406(3), 408(3), 424(2), 441(2), 499(4); LAW 231(3); TCM 123(3), 221(3), 313(3), 321(3), 322(3), 324(3).
  3. Public Affairs Capstone Experience will be fulfilled by completion of IDC 499(4).

The admission process

To gain full admittance into the interior design program, follow the steps below:

  1. Declare or change your major to interior design by visiting the Academic Advising and Transfer Center, University Hall 109
  2. Meet with your assigned advisor to discuss admission requirements and to develop a plan of study
  3. Complete the program’s admission requirements
  4. Work with the interior design department to complete the Application to a Degree Program form (.pdf) to update your record

When you declare your major, you will be listed as a pre-major until you satisfy all admission requirements.
