Admission Requirements

To begin course work in the field of construction management, you initially need to be admitted to Missouri State. Before completing 75 credit hours, you must also be admitted to a degree program.

Construction Management (Comprehensive)

Bachelor of Science

Admission requirement:

  1. Passing grade in MTH 261(5) or 287(3).

Major requirements (93-96 hours):

Note: 13-16 hours may double count toward the General Education requirements.

    1. Focus on Social and Behavioral Sciences: ECO 155(3), PSY 121(3).
    2. Focus on Public Issues: ITC 200(3) or CSC 210(3) is recommended.
    3. Focus on Written Communication and Integrative and Applied Learning: ENG 321(3) is recommended.
    4. Focus on Quantitative Literacy: MTH 261(5) or 287(3).
    5. Focus on Physical Sciences: PHY 123(4) or PHY 203(5).
    6. Focus on Life Sciences: BIO 101(3) or GLG 115(3) is recommended.

  4. Public Affairs Capstone Experience will be fulfilled by completion of TCM 499(3).
  5. No more than 31 hours of coursework from the business units of the College of Business will be allowed.

The admission process

To gain full admittance into the construction management program, follow the steps below:

  1. Declare or change your major to construction management by visiting the Academic Advising and Transfer Center, University Hall 109
  2. Meet with your assigned advisor to discuss admission requirements and to develop a plan of study
  3. Complete the program’s admission requirements
  4. Work with the construction management department to complete the Application to a Degree Program form (.pdf) to update your record

When you declare your major, you will be listed as a pre-major until you satisfy all admission requirements.
